Mandy Dawkins is your self-employment assistance coach for the Mid North Coast delivered through VERTO.

Over the last 26 years, she has worked in a wide range of roles, but the one thing that has remained constant is her passion for supporting people. As a Self-Employment Assistance Facilitator, she enjoys helping participants navigate the challenges of starting or growing a business while creating a space where they feel heard, understood and supported.

She understands that everyone brings different experiences, goals and barriers, which is why her approach is centred on listening without judgement. Whether it's connecting participants with community networks, helping them work through challenges, or simply being a sounding board, she believes people achieve their best outcomes when they feel encouraged and empowered.

One of her favourite parts of the role is celebrating participant success and watching businesses grow. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside people on their business journey and be part of their achievements. Her advice is simple: take a breath. Business can feel overwhelming, but there's usually a solution when you slow down, talk things through and tackle one step at a time. Outside of work, she enjoys hitting the open road on her BMW F650 GS Dakar motorcycle whenever the opportunity arises.
